Short Explanation of the
Texas Holdem Rules
The two players sitting left of
the dealer place the Small Blind and Big Blind bet. The bets are blind
because no cards have been dealt yet. The amount of the bets depends on
the table's limit. Players are dealt 2 cards facedown. The first betting
round starts. You can equal the bet of the previous player, raise it or
accept your losses and leave the game (fold). Three community cards are
now being placed in the middle of the table face-up. All players share
these cards. The second betting round follows. A fourth community card is
dealt face-up, followed by a betting round. The final (5th) community card
is placed face-up in the middle of the table. The final and most exciting
betting round follows. The end of the game is the showdown, where
remaining players show their best poker hand (5 cards) created out of
their 2 cards and the 5 community cards. Best hand wins! Tip 2:
There are many different kinds of Texas Holdem poker tables with different
betting stakes. Choose the betting limit that fits your budget best. |
