Short Explanation of the
7 Card Stud Rules
The game starts with all players
putting a predetermined amount in the pot (the ante). Now every player is
dealt 2 face-down cards and 1 face-up card. The player with the lowest
face-up card starts the first betting round. The 4th card is dealt to the
remaining players face-up. Another betting round starts with the player
showing the highest cards. The 5th and 6th card are also dealt face-up,
and after each card dealt the player with the highest cards showing starts
a betting round. The last card (7th) dealt is a face-down card. The final
betting round follows and the remaining players show their best poker
hands. The best hand wins the pot.
Tip 2:
The game Stud 8 or Better is a variation of 7 Card Stud Poker. The
difference is that the pot is split between the high and low hand.
